Many of my works are inspired by the adventures I take in my life. The London Series is no exception. London is one of my favorite cities on Earth. I love how it feels like dozens of different cities all at once. While my trip to London in 2017 was inspirational, I did not know what art would come out of it, but on a recent trip to the Art Institute of Chicago I spent quite a while in the Impressionist's wing. I usually spend a long while in there when I attend the museum because my imagination is so easily captured by their illustrus use of color and texture. I was inspired by three paintings by Monet on this particular trip--"The Houses of Parilament," "Charing Cross Bridge," and "Waterloo Bridge, Sunlight Effect." I knew immediately a sting quartet was on the horizon. I can think of no better medium to express the delicacy, subtlety, and irridesence of these Monet masterpieces.
